howdy, I briefly tried the archieves for this prob so I'm not totally taking advantage of you listees. MY WESTIE WON'T START on its own but will start (with a struggle) w/ a jump. It's a '90 westie which i have had stored all winter until last sunday when i took it out all day....couldn't bare to look at it sitting there anylonger....started fine, and has always started fine (new to me since nov). Decided to take it to work monday evening....stopped to get a cup of Java.....came out and it did not start....at first no lights no nothing ...than after a few tries the lights (oil, collant, battery) came of followed by the annoying buzzer. Today went out to it and tried to start...all lights worked and headlights ect....but would just click once or twice....then nothing. I brough my other '88 gl to help its younger brother and it started, took a little coaking...prob like its 3rd turn of the key...It really didn't kick in all that well, but it started and ran fine for awhile, just let is sit there hoping to charge up. Turned it off and .....back to the drawing board. I own a bentley,as all of us should, so i can get current parameters from that....my question is all all this shpeal is....how does the ignition/starter work....what is the path from the battery-->starter switch-->-->starter-->altenator-->distributor-->engine start. I would like to have a clue......any and all other suggestion will be appreciated a always... thanks jon 88'gl 90 westie have not had the chance to enjoy yet!!!!!
