You are correct, my manual gives nice tips on how to drive in the rough, how to mix your diesel for the winter, what oil to use in which temps and how to replace oil and filter, how to aim the headlights, how to use starter cables etc.

Most manuals these days tell you how to start the engine, how to turn on the heat, how to replace light bulbs and how to call the dealer when the shit stops.
