my slow lumbering diesel westy gets 30-ish, my TDI Jetta got 51 point something two weeks ago on a road trip to Carson City, NV from Phoenix. pulled 620 miles out of it before it got down to about a 1/4 tank.

just FWIW.... sometimes it pays to be slow.
