No! You have it backwards. Fram is a *bad* filter to use. Most FLAPS filters are unsuitable for the Vanagon -- the truly safe way is to use OEM or Mann or Mahle filters, available at dealers for usually around $7 including the copper washer for the drain plug, or at Bus Depot and other list vendors for a good bit less (prolly without washer, which sells for about 25 cents at Bus Depot).

If a FLAPS specs the same filter for the Vanagon as for the Golf/Jetta, that's a dead giveaway -- you don't want that filter. The Vanagon has special requirements.
