Wow!  You'll be an interesting addition to the list (welcome!).  I'm sure I
speak for the group when I say I am anxious to hear/see more details about
the motor you have in this "free" beast.

You will find this to be a great community and a wonderful resource for
anything Vanagon (and then some).

Side note -  (and this is something I do accidently from time-to-time) Try
not to send mail to the list in html format - it is not digested well by
Gerry (the server) and it causes pain for some of the list members as well.
(Has to do with all the extra formatting and gibberish characters that are
interpreted by "plain text" mail clients)

Hi everyone:

Just want to introduce myself as a brand new Vanagon owner [as of last
week]. I was GIVEN FOR FREE a 1982 Diesel Vanagon with a rebuilt 1998
Porsche engine. I've never owned one of these before...in fact...my only
experience with VW's was way back when my father owned both a bug and a
rabbit. The body on this bus is in great shape...the interior was well taken
care of. I'm quite happy...

I'll submit some pictures in the near future. So far I've enjoyed the
discussions on the list. I hope to contribute soon.
