While my van was (and still is!) sitting waiting for a new engine 1.5 years ago, it was burglerized. They found the battery well and rather than take the 1-2 mins to unscrew the plates, used screwdrivers and such to jack the lid. The lid was damaged as well as the surrounding body-lip that holds it. There is a special place in hell for these f&86ers! BTW, they even took my entire ashtray with maybe 30-40 cents in pennies! That said, the security on the spare well may encourage the damage. -- Please note and remove the spamblock "faux." from my reply-to address above in order to send a reply. I use it to block some of the junk mail.
