Is it reading 13 V during the light-on period? If so then you have a crossed wire somewhere since the indicator light grounds through the alternator only when the alternator is not putting a positive charge to the terminal the indicator light wire (18GA blue) is attached to. If not it may be worth replacing the regulator for testing purposes. In the shop we don't do this anymore - we just change out the alternator. Experience, the great mother of all teachers, says that the parts are similarly aged and are likely to fail within too short a time span of each other to be satisfying for our customers: "But I though you just fixed that!", is a refrain that ages rapidly.

The battery and oxy warning lights lit up yesterday morning on my 83. The lights stayed on for a while, then flickered, then went off for a while. This repeated several times. The battery is reading 13 volts. Does anyone have a suggestion? Could it be the regulator?

Thanks,
