What might work is taking the rear facing seat from a wolfsburg/caravalle and putting it in the seat closet to the sliding door. It would have to be in upright position for people to get into the middle seat, but it might be possible. I am not sure about the clearance though. Other list memebers may have input. Plus it can be removed, extremely easily, when the entire family is not being transported.
