I think I got it licked. (It was stalling when I got off the gas coming into a redlight or stop sign.) I checked over the FI at the ECU with the ohm-meter. Everything looked OK there except the FI's were all reading about 18 ohms--the book says 16.5. Is this just instrument error or an indication of a real problem? I also saw about 3 ohm on the ground to ECU pins. Maybe my digital meter is off 2 or 3 ohms? I will run an extra ground wire here when I get a chance. I checked the Temp II cold. It is OK. I ran the engine until normal temp reading showed on the guage and shut it off. Rechecked Temp II hot. Looks OK (~350 ohms). I then jumped the idle stabilizer and set the idle and timing. The timing was advanced a few degrees. I reset it and adjusted the idle speed. I had to back out the idle screw several turns to bring the idle back up. I shut it down again and put the idle stabilizer back on line. Idle is about right. My next question is--Is there a ball park setting for the CO screw on the AFC? Does anyone recall how many turns out from "tight" would be close. It doesn't seem to effect the idle until you get almost all the way in. If I understand correctly, it is an air bleed around the AFC, so in tight would richen the mixture and backing out would lean the idle mixture. I think it came set new about 3 turns out, but I'm not sure. I don't have access to a CO meter. Thanks, Jay |
