Sudhir You may well beat me to it, as it's going to be some time before I can save the funds to fit my engine & Porsche trans. I have all of the major bits (van, trans, engine) but not the money for adaptor kit and fabrication/labor. A Wellington outfit, Powerhaus, says it can adapt the trans for a hydraulic clutch. Someone reckoned the VW and Porsche flanges are the same diameter, and the CVs are interchangable. And having just typed that, I went to the basement and tried a CV from my derelict V8 1975 bus on my Porsche 915 flange. Perfect fit. Your VW CVs will bolt to your Porsche trans. You may need different-length axles however if the 904 trans flanges are higher, in a different position fore/aft or are spaced wider/narrower than your VW trans' flanges. I suggest Sway-a-Way, though they did not bother to reply to my query about axles. Best of luck with yours. Wish me luck with mine! Andrew |
