FYI As the (second) owner of the first TRS-80 Mod I sold in the State of Maine, (and more to the point, as being long ago in the business of manufacturing floppy drives) I can assure you that this is not so. To the best of my knowledge no 10" floppy drive was ever manufactured by anyone. The Mod I had optional 5 1/4" floppies, (originally single-sided, single density, 35-track Shugarts which cost $400 and held -- wait for it -- 87 kilobytes formatted). The Mod II had a single built-in 8" drive and I think you could get an external for $$$$. The Mod III had one or two internal 5 1/4" drives, IIRC. cheers david David Beierl - Providence, RI http://pws.prserv.net/synergy/Vanagon/ '84 Westy "Dutiful Passage" '85 GL "Poor Relation" |
