Subject: What to do in the weekend ?? (F)

Hi all !
What do you do when itīs winter ??
Here in Sweden itīs been below zero degrees Celsius ( to you farenheiters thatīs when the water goes from fluid to solid :-)) since late october now, and I reckon that to be too darn cold to be outside, working on the Vanagon !
And weīve got some of that white fluffy stuff thatīs covering the parkinglot in the morning too wich makes it even more uncomfortable ....
So what to do ??
Well the Vanagon IS running - okay more like stuttering and bouncing - in spite of the default Temp II sensor and other little inconveniances, and on a good day Iīm even able to get some hot air on the windshield from my screaming fan and then I take my two dogs - Belgian shepherd / Tervueren - and drive up to a nearby lake !!
Right now we have about 4 feet of solid ice on the lake and to my joy (and the dogs horror) the ice is like a mirror !!
So I put on my long distance skates, the strap onto your shoes kind, and take off around the lake with the dogs resultlessly trying to catch me !
It really pisses them off , normally the can reach a top speed of 30 mph on tarmac but on the ice they donīt have a chance :-)
Until their master - thats me - in an effort to enjoy them throws himself up in the air and with a loud "thud" falls flat on the ice, yelling all kinds of expressions ....
That makes it all up to them for the chase .....
And after compleating a couple of laps around the lake that is about 4 miles long, itīs really nice to get into a hot Vanagon and have a cup of coffee and a sandwich !
And then, if you feel like it , go out again !
Iīve even tried driving the Vanagon out onto the ice to do some ice fishing ( itīs really nice to sit with the sliding door open and the propane heater running ) but no, I prefer having my vehicle on dry land !!
But long distance skating is really worth trying if you have the opportunity !
So have a nice weekend ya all, whatever plans you have, I know what Iīm going to do :-)
