The stereo that I did this on was in my '93 Eurovan, maybe that realized how ridiculous and what a PITA is is for legitimate owners of the older models. 130$CDN is like buying your own stereo TWICE. All the information I have has told me that after the third time the system is toast and the radio must be returned to VW gurus for reprogramming. Last time I had to do that cost me $130. CND !! And, I'm sure I waited more that one hour before trying the code again before sending the dam thing off to the dealer. In fact, I got info from the list over a period of a few weeks and tried every scenario possible and NOTHING worked. The conclusion was that it must be returned to the dealer !
