Wrong! The factory wired them from the parking lights, and powered the relay from the X circuit

That is a matter of personal taste and experience. I use them all the time because more light is more sight. (if I have them on my car. I don't have fog's on my Syncro now) Hella never calls foglights foglights. They call them safety lowbeams.
