Yeah, I've actually done that a few times.........however, with snowboard boots on ma feet, it's a bit tough to climb the crack. Usually I support maself with the left foot on the latch pin, left hand on the roofrack tower, right hand on the object desired in the roof box, and right leg flailing about, trying not to kick the dog.
