Life is full of ironies:

I only live about 2 hours away from Everybus2000, yet I won't be able to make it! :-(

At least, however, the Vanagon will be with us that weekend at a rented condo on a Florida Beach! :-)

I wish the timing worked out so that I could do both, because I was looking forward to meeting some of the other list members. Having said that, I need to compile a list of recommended Vanagon mechanics and Good-Samaritan listmembers between Durham NC, down I-85 around Atlanta and all the way to Montgomery AL, and then down I-65 to Pensacola FL. We will be in Fort Walton Beach for a while, and then it is I-10 to Jacksonville for a while and back up I-95 to home.

I will check the Vanagon.com mechanics list of course, but if anyone has any more insight or recommendations, I would appreciate it! Look for the red Carat, we'll wave!

Interstates might not be the most fun, but they are the fastest. Besides, we need to avoid the tourist traps in Georgia, like the: "Come see the place where Ken's Carat blew a headgasket" monument. :-)

Thanks, Michael Townsend Durham NC
