A heater that gives as much heat as a standard electric space heater (which isn't nearly enough for a Vgon driving down the road in the cold) would take 100 amps. No can do.

BJ's warehouse sells a 30,000 BTU/hr propane blast heater for $90 US, meant for (very small) construction sites. It will run about 14 hours on a 20# BBQ tank. It needs about an amp of 110vac, which you can supply with a small inverter -- 140watt units available for about $40 US at the discount houses like BJ's.

You'd have to secure it to the floor somehow, but it would work. It shoves great masses of hot air out the front and makes a roaring noise (it's really just a tube with a fan in back and a fire in the middle, with another tube enclosing it that stays cool).
