My friends don't care about the mystery attachment --- the list does and it is for the list's sake that I'm trying to figure it out. Based on useful responses from other listees I can now note for all Lotus Notes users that if you go to Actions-->Special Options and Select MIME from the Special Internet Options drop down box --- it seems to get rid of a gratuitous attachment that Notes sends --- unbeknownst to most users. I didn't know about this until a few listees pointed it out.

While I can live with the shame of public chastisement :<) --- remember that it, too, went to 600 people and will live forever in the archives......
