I think I'd come down on the side of using it in an expendable vehicle.
Donate the lot to a demolition derby, for instance... 15% diesel is
certainly too much to burn in any vehicle you care about. Even dilution is
tricky. I have run into the need to remove diesel from contaminated vehicles
many times over the years (strange that the nozzles on the pumps fit in
tanks that use unleaded fuel, isn't it?), and each time I am amazed at how
long the things continue to smoke and smell funny and run like - well,
diesels, even after draining tank and carbs and/or flushing fuel lines. I
guess if you added it a pint at a time each time you fill your tank with
good ol' gasoline...

I've recently become the reluctant owner of 75 gallons of unleaded
regular gasoline, contaminated with about 15 per cent Diesel fuel.
(I'll spare everyone the details, but let's just say the situation
could have been worse). I've been advised to just blend in some more
gas and use it up in any gasoline powered vehicle. (The ideal
solution, of course, would be to dump it in a 5,000 gallon bulk
tank--but the local service station is naturally opposed to this
option). My plan is to pick one more or less expendable vehicle for
this "expiriment", make a 50-50 mix of fresh and contaminated gas and
give it a whirl. My question is, which one to pick. Fuel injected or
carburated. Or should I just forget the whole idea and pay an oil
recycler $100 to haul the whole mess away?
