Hey Volks, I am thinking of replacing my waterboxer with a in-line 4 golf motor. How much is a good running 1.9L waterboxer worth? I am trying to decide if I should swap motors now and sell the waterboxer or run it into the ground and then replace. I am looking for a reliable motor for long (>1500 miles) trips and a little more power. I have not done a compression test on the waterboxer but it runs very well and get good gas milage. The only oil it uses leaks out the bottom and that is less than a quart between oil changes. It has about 100,000 miles on it. The head gaskets look good (as if you can tell from the outside). I think the DPO may have changed them before I bought the van, but I am not sure because she was in Latin America and I was in Maine when I bought it. Offer? TIA, Stephen P. Davis |
