Hi Gang, I replaced the CVs on the passenger rear of my Syncro where I had been hearing crunch scrapes and wheezes. I figured that the CV was dry and gone. I pulled it all appart and there was still some grease but the bearings fell out very easily on the outer CV. The inner CV was real juicy with lots of black oil. Could it be Tranny fluid maybe? sure looked like it. I cleaned up all that I could and noticed that the little plastic cap in the center of the axle, over the circlip was cockeyed. I pushed it back on and mopped up the juice. Is it normal to have transmission fluid in the inner CV or is there a leaky seal out of the differential housing? Thanks all, Joel coming up off the floor of my garage. 89 Syncro Westy Rochester NY. 22 degrees and getting colder.
