Buley asks, "Those of you with Turbo Diesels, where are you getting your deep-pleated (turbo) air filters (and what brand/cost)? I am able to readily find the gas (dinky pleat) variety, but increasingly can't find the proper 1.5" pleats." I get MANN filters at Olympic A/P in Virginia for $6 - 8, I forget exactlly how much. See http://www.forparts.com/index.html They ship UPS. They have all the other Bosch and MANN stuff and that yellow stripe fuel return hose. I think the NA diesels use the same thick filter too. Took me years to realize the diesel one is thicker and used the thin Fram for that period. For shame! That's how the diesels get by w/ the same change interval. In the Fram catalog next to "Superbeetle and Rabbit, Gas is Jetta Diesel. Hmmm, someone's skimping. I changed it every 12,000 miles though. --nate |
