I don't know about different model years, etc. But on my '89 Syncro, the front bleeder screws are 7mm and the rears are 8mm. Go figure.. :-) (May have been changed by the PO - they also have different looking caps on them).

The grand prize goes to Brent Christensen as he seems to have had the correct answer. Thanks Brent.

After some re-adjustments of brake settings and a thorough search for the 7mm wrench in my garage (which I did not find-found everything but-so I did not bleed brakes yet) I still had same mushy brakes. But after careful review of the master cylinder and master brake fluid reservoir noticed it was at minimum level. Yep. Looks like the level was to low to begin with and bet I introduced air to the lines.

Going out tomorrow to buy fluid and a 7mm wrench (right one I hope?) and bleed brakes. Is there a wheel order I should follow to bleed these brakes?

Thanks, Lee -- Lee Roesner PARADIGM Graphic Design & Web Development Northbrook Office 847-509-8704 Fax: 847-480-5701 Home Office: 815-385-2969 Fax: 815-385-2994 PORTFOLIO: http://www.roesner.net/vw
