Hello to all: I am the sometimes happy owner of an 89 westy with a little over 100k mi.. I always say I spend more time under it than inside it. I am starting to hear some strange sounds which I assume is from the auto trans. Sort of a periodic vibration in tune with the engine. It only ocurrs when moving ahead-even creeping ahead. It does not show up in neutral or when moving in reverse. I dont see any slippage in normal driving. My guess so far is that the Final drive and torque converter should be ok. Before I pull the tranny are there any helpful suggestions out there? I did manage to rebuild one of these on my 69 fastback years ago and wonder whether used transmissions, rebuild kits and other parts are available? Any help gratefully appreciated. John,Arlington, MA
