I think that any address other than:

WWW.VANAGON.COM

or possibly

HTTP://WWW.VANAGON.COM

would be very misleading, unless you want to have a paragraph of fine print explaining how to sign up with listserv etc. If any of those VANAGON@GERRY.VANAGON.COM addresses get out we will be getting either puzzled looks, or lots of mail from people who are not subscribed to the list.
