Each to their own, it wasn't particularly a slight on Fiamma, I just think
Thule makes a more durable rack.  And, yes Yakima is still in business
(http://www.yakima.com/), and I think they make the best of the commercially
available racks.  My Yakima has seen some very rough rides (sits on a 1989
Land Cruiser which goes anywhere and everywhere) carrying very heavy loads
(typically two sea kayaks, a bike or two, and a basket loaded with a cooler
and baby jogger, et al).   It rides nicely, on the road and off, is well
thought out and easy to use, has clamps that grip tight but don't bind my
gutters or mar the paint, and is extremely adaptable with very little
effort.  I don't think about my rack much, which is testimony to it's
utility.
