Subject: Sticker Phase II: Voting Commences

At the stroke of midnight (MST of course), I set up the voting booth for the Vanagon Sticker contest. Voting is now open to Vanagon List members.

VERY IMPORTANT The issue and question of our sticker's purpose is arising and I can see this may build and consume considerable bandwidth, therefore I am setting up the web site with a FORUM with the intent that if needed, folks can take extended discussions about the design, meaning, visual impressions, religious significance, other potential controversial implications derived from the application of Vanagon sticker to their bus's exterior, etc. This is to reduce the bandwidth use of Gerry from this contest discussions. Just click on the FORUM button.

I have had several list members indicate that they are capable and willing to print stickers for us.

I also noticed if you insert homepage.html at the end of the previous web address that you eliminate the banner at the bottom giving more space to view images, You will lose options to view the FORUM Discussion.

Don't forget Rons Thumnbnail page. Thats all I know or care to remember at this point. Have some fun in the booth.

I agree with Jeff's recent post: "My question is what are the purpose of the stickers? I had thought they were so we could identify each other on the road--knowing the guy or gal in the next bus is a fellow listee..."

I set up the rules for general guidelines. I solicited input WAY BACK, but didn't get feedback. So I modeled teh requirements after the previous sticker, therefore the address inclusion. Personally, I think something bright, snappy, & distinct would be most visually recognizable on the road. Think about what jumps out at you to say: HEY I'M A LISTEE. I don't mind uploading a few more images of revised stickers.

Don't forget what the Voting Info page says right above the counter: "As you've may have observed, rules subject to change without notice." :)

Gotta get some sleep tonight. ken
