Well, I don't see that as all that bad of a solution. Get into it at a low cost (which is clearly the key), with the idea that down the road I'll be poking through the junkyard for another 5 cylinder VW/Audi engine. Or a VR6.

I realize the chance I'd be taking, and that I have to decide this on my own. Still, it's good to have a breadth of knowledge behind me.
