I am trying to remove the rear springs on my '85 Westy. I removed the shock but I can't lower the swing arm enough to remove the spring. Do I have to mess with the axle? Damn... hope not. I am attempting to raise the rear of the van about an inch by shimming between the spring and the frame. Bad idea? All input welcome.

Thanks Brandt 85 westy
