Subject: List Sticker... debacle or debate?

Hi Frank, Your points (1) and (2) are right on the mark. Also Tom's idea for Vanagon.ORG makes good sense to me. I spent part of a previous life in advertising and corporate image work, and would comment that the best time for agreeing on purposes is before the design work starts. Readability and a message easy to remember are good objectives....... if they are agreed upon. We may now have a number of designs that look great, but would not be effective for the agreed purposes, which in the present case didn't cost anything in $$$ but do represent a contribution of time and talent on the part of the entrants.

To identify ourselves to (a) oncoming cars as well as (b) cars overtaking us, we could use two stickers -- one for the front, one for the rear. If we chose two designs, then at least two entrants would be pleased. Of course, we needn't limit ourselves to stickers. A bumper badge on the front might be OK also???

I think I'll do other things, like my taxes, my train inventory, my Dodgy transmission.... and wait to see what happens. But I will be rooting for your points (1) and (2), plus Vanagon.ORG..... FWIW.

Best regards Glenn

.....I think it should serve two purposes. 1. identify the Vanagon owner as a List member and 2. tell how to get to the List. NOW, that # 2 one is the hard part. Since we can't explain the whole subsribe-unsubscribe thingy on that we bit of a sticker unless you guys and gals wanna make a billboard for the side of the Vanagon, then the only logical thing to do is advertise "Vanagon.com".....
