Subject: Thule carrier
Content-Type: text/plain

Hallo Listees!

Could you share your experience with the Thule system on your Westy? I would like to buy a Thule cargo box and attach it to the pop-top so I don't lose the upper bunk beds. We are a family of four taking long summer trips. The Thule dealer here in Blue Springs, Missouri has never dealt with a Westfalia, but assured me the hardware was available. However, after consulting with the factory he said that Thule will void the warranty if the box is attached to the poptop. Is there a problem i.e. breaking/cracking of the top maybe? Also, last year at Olympic National Park, I saw a Thule bike carrier attached to the towhitch of a Seattle Westy. It was one of those foldable deals which allow you to open the hatch w/o unloading the bikes.Any info on that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Hermann de Boer 87 Westy GL Eurospec 2.0l conversion
