I had the pleasure of my first road test in the 2.0 16V powered Vanagon yesterday. The conversion went very well. The only added unplanned situations were the need to cut part of the deck lid frame to clear the distributor, and waiting for the Bentley book from amazon to complete the wiring. Tom Czerniak, a fellow list member and I went for the ride. I was very pleased with the power and I think Tom was impressed. I will have pics to send to Tom Carrington for his web page next week. QUESTION: my new clutch was slipping occasionally, and that was a compliant from the po with the stock engine. I suspect it is the clutch slave cylinder sticking. I bleed it several times yesterday with the same results. Has anyone ever replaced one for the same reason or could it be the clutch master? thanks Rob |
