Martin, Yes, the side seals in the transmission case need replacing. If I recall correctly, removing the piece that holds them requires that you adjust the end play when replaced. Check your Bentley, it might just be easier to keep topping up the tranny until you do the inevitable rebuild, which usually comes shortly after 100,000 miles.
