Kevin: I've had an awning from Carefree of Colorado for several years. They make 8' and 10' and have brackets for Vanagons--that fit a Westy. Mine isn't a Westy and could use a simpler bracket, but.... I have the 10' which they say takes two people to unroll/roll, but I can do it alone. It extends over the passenger door so to protect that window. I really like it and it is well made. The model is Sidewinder II. You can see it on my bus at http://coyote.colorado.edu/jones/DV but is isn't unrolled; it was never hot/sunny enough in Death Valley to use it in January. :-( I bought it through an RV dealer. Carefree of Colorado is about 8 miles from Boulder (in Broomfield) but they sell through dealers. I think the price was ~$225, but don't remember exactly, since it's been a few years. Anyway, I highly recommend it! Richard A. Jones Boulder, Colorado '81 Vanagon Mr Bus |
