Not so on the rebuild..... my 1985 was sold at 165,000 mi with a perfectly fine tranny... I think it depends on how you treat it. I currently have a 1990 with 170,000 miles on an automatic. For preventative maintenance, I just had the tranny serviced (new screen and fluid). The PO had changed fluid last year, but didn't do the screen It shifts smoothly, no weird noises, I've always felt that most trans problems (especially automatics) are a result of never changing the fluid |
