I wrote to the list recently that I am using the Amsoil filter
Number SDF34 on my '90 westy.
A good filter, very well made, and works good on my westy.
It does have a oil pressure relief valve on the bottom, and
a spring-loaded anti-drain back valve on the top.
Also has a cellulose, synthetic, and glass-blend media
for better filtration.
A friendly listmember suggested that one could possibly purchase
the same filter through Baldwin for less.
(I did find out about the new Baldwin coolant filter, which I am
in the process of installing now on my '90 westy).
Did some research, called Baldwin etc.
Tried to cross-reference Amsoil SDF34 with comparable Baldwin filter.
According to Baldwin, they do not directly sell an equivalent
to the Amsoil SDF34.
So I'll stick with the Amsoil even though it is more expensive.
