Or take the $6 and go buy a few packs of hockey cards for $5. Trade the cards with your friends, give them to your kid, whatever.

With your remaining buck, go to your local metric fastener store and buy an M17 bolt and two nuts to match. (This is a bolt with a 17mm head).

Spin the nuts on to the bolt, then lock them hard against each other. If you're feeling picky, go share a beer or two with your friend-with-a-welder and weld the nuts on to the bolt.

You've made the transmission plug tool. Use it with a 17mm socket, open-ended wrench, whatever you need. Be happy!

BTW: I advise you *not* to go to Canadian Tire for this. The Exchange: --------------- You: Hi, I need a bolt and a coupla nuts. CT twerp: What for? You: For my car. Well, it's a Vanagon, actually. CTT: (tap tap tap tap) Cargo van? (tap tap tap tap) You: Oh, no....
