Fronts on 2WD Vanagons are pretty simple also. Raise the front, remove the struts and the springs can be removed without too much effort. As I have said before, installing springs from an 84-85 passenger model into a Westy can make a big improvement. Measure the old and "new" to see but they usually raise the Westy by 1/2-3/4 inch and the extra travel makes a noticeable improvement in the ride. I recently installed Bilsteins in my 82 Westy and they made a big difference also. I used to use KYBs but now I'm spoiled. Thank you Ken Wilford!
