The 1.9 in my 84 Waterboxer with 15K on a rebuilt engine was...
155,150,155,150. I had to pull the engine because of compression leak
into the coolant.

And darn, I fergot to pull the power to the pump also.
Sounds like perhaps you need a new mechanic. Your engine sounds....
