let preface my thoughts with this comment-- vanagons' with stock or worse engine/suspension/tire packages are not meant to travel at speeds over 144kph (last time i was in germany this was the approx speed limit of the autobahn)which when you divide by the accepted conversion factor of 16 gives you roughly 90mph.

i have gotten my van, with a tricked 3.4liter chevy v-6 , borrowed 17" wheels/lo-profile tires, and borrowed 2" drop springs up to 120mph at around 7000-8000rpm. i had to remove the soft-touch rev-limiter/tach or i would have been limited to 5500rpm(roughly 95mph) this speed was gotten on the part of i-83 between timonium, md and the pa line.
