I just removed my battery to recharge it and put it back in today. When I reinstalled it the hinged cover would not clip down due to the battery being too tall. This was caused by the plastic protective cover not fitting correctly on the post (would not push down far enough). Does this mean I have a too tall battery? Do new Vanagon batteries come their own plastic cover, and if not, does the original plastic cover fit all replacement batteries? Personally, I found the fire warning on the plastic cover a little worrying.
