Subject: Question for the Electrically Inclined
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Electrical gurus please help. I am trying to piece together a system to improve the trouble-prone glow plug circuitry on my diesel Vanagons. I need to build a circuit that will carry 50 amps DC for 15 seconds at a time. Can anyone point me to a circuit breaker that will provide 50A for the required time, but trip if the power is not switched off? I prefer to have one that will reset itself after is has been tripped and cooled down. I have found plenty of sources for manual reset breakers. Heck, even my '53 Chevy has breakers (30A) that reset themselves! For the diesel fans in this crowd, the controller works correctly, but this is the second time I have had a total meltdown in the stock wiring due to what I think is excessive current for the plastic controller socket. The first time it breaks, I fix it. Second time, I replace it!
