Subject: power steering lines(semi-long)
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Hi List, I am hoping someone can give me more than their two cents on this one. I need to replace the high pressure metal power steering line that bolts up to the PS rack. While my friend is in the neighborhood he is going to replace the other PS line that is reg. pressure, which also bolts to the PS rack. He said they are both about 2-3 feet long. I have seen Franks' site about the rubber PS hose w/ metric fittings but those are 7 feet long and are the ones more towards the back(i think, if i understood him correctly?) Anyway, my buddy searched his Bentley and saw no drawings of these hoses. Are these dealer-only metal lines or can i have Frank make me rubber lines? What have you other folks done? I live on the Jersey Shore, where we have salt air year-round and salt on the roads in the winter, if that helps. And the Vanagon is a 1987 Wolfsburg Edition automatic with A/C.

Sorry about the bandwidth!

Thanks in advance,
