About 18 months ago I had my red and cream 83.5 completely repainted. The

guy did not take out the glass and replace the rubber gaskets (in retrospect, I wish I had asked for that); but he did a good job taping and he took all rusty spots down to shiny metal. The whole job, with a neat added stripe, was $1,800. That was about the same bid I got from two other local guys. I am still pleased. The work seems be holding up fine.

One complaint: he did miss a little spot under the driver's side rear sliding winding. I had to grind and prime it the other day. Hence my conclusion that it would have been smart to pay the extra bucks to have the glass removed and the gaskets replaced while I was at it.

Woody
