When I went to the local dealer, the bar was $68. To do a complete factory style installation requires brackets that fit into the battery box, under and on top of the floor, and of course, behind the fuel overflow tank. The floor brackets fit together on opposite sides of the van floor. I got all this info from carefully reproducing the exploded parts diagram in the dealer microfiche and examination of a Carat with the actual seats. I can't see a way to do it (the right way) without dropping the tank, which is why my jump seat is still in the garage. Soon :-) I suggest that anyone who is trying to install the jump seat take a long look at the fiche to see how it fits together. It actually makes sense once you see the whole thing.

The passenger side seat fits right into you Westy. If you want to mount the driver side seat on the passenger side you'll need a new bar (probably $50-$100 at the dealer).

I got a passenger side seat from a junk yard and now I'm trying to figure out how to mount it properly into my Syncro Westy. I can't figure out how those bottom brackets are supposed to be welded in. Can anybody help? Thanks, Peter
