ok, not wanting to start another "safety" thread....

Hunting down parts at Bry's to do some repairs on one of the Audi's, I wandered a few rows further back where the Vanagons and other busses were located, what do I see but a Vanagon with a front corner cut out of it. Interesting. Go back a few days later with a camera, take a few pictures (only three, thought I had more film), and figure I'd share them with y'all. Pics are kind of dark as the sun played havoc with my "smart" camera. From what I saw, these things are pretty darn well-built. Much more structure in the front than the loafs. 'course, you can put as much metal up there as you want, someone will say it ain't safe. Whatever... I feel pretty safe in mine knowing that I can stop or steer around something that gets in my way. If the worst does happen, chances are still pretty good that I'm sitting above it. I take the very same chances on the roads whether I'm in my VW, Audi, or whatever.

Sorry, the soapbox kinda snuck up under me there. check it out: http://www.oz.net/~sneakers/crash.htm
