There is another Haynes that DOES cover watercooled. It is published in England and is carried by busdepot.com and maby a few other vendors here. About $30 as I recall. The "Bible" is the Bentley Manual, about $80 and for what is in this "Official VW Shop Manual" double the price would still be cheap considering the price of shop labor. Mine has saved me THOUSANDS!! Even has a Westy Camper section! I have had both for about 5 years. The Haynes still looks new but the Bentley is bent, beat-up and waterproofed from the grease and oil smears. Get the Bentley.

Hi there. I just purchased my first vanagon after 15 years of air cooled vw's, the last one was a '66 westfalia. Now I am looking for a good service or repair manual since i need to do some work on the front end and the drive shafts. Any suggestions which is the one to get? So far I only saw the Haynes book, which does not include the wasserboxer. Thanks, Joern
