Hi All, I bought a pair of rear hatch struts from a list vendor recently and received their heavy duty better than original struts. Since they told me they sell lots of them, perhaps one of you have also bought them and can give me some feedback on their usage. On the original, one end of the strut gets bolted in and the other is slid over a stud and retained with a circlip. The new ones have the bolt end but the other end does not have a through hole but rather a type of plastic cage with a metal catch, as if it was expecting a stud with a ball end on it (e.g. similar to some volvos). I tried putting the end on and it did kind of latch into the recess where the circlip would go, but it seemed quite wobbly and un-mechanical. What have people been doing with these to make them work? They also seem to be a little bit longer. Thanks, Erik |
