It sounds to me like someone at the shop gave you bad info. If you presently have plastic bumpers, you _will_ have to break off the mounting tab extensions to put a metal bumper on the front of the van, as well as possibly drill a hole for the endcap screw. For the rear bumper, you will have to unbolt your old mounts and replace them with mounts that came from a van that originally had metal bumpers (generally easy to find at a junkyard), and again perhaps drill a hole to mount the endcap. I will find out who apparantly told you otherwise, correct them, and put your order on hold until further notice.
