I put H&R springs on my 88 Wolfsburg. The ride is a little bumper over bad roads, on smooth roads...

I would not put them on a Westy due to the weight.

My 88' Vanagon weighs 4000 lbs.

The ride BEFORE was bad, in corners/curves the van felt like it was going to tip over.

The ride AFTER is good, I can take corners/curves easily.

-X curve at 30 mph feels like it is going to tip over. -X curve at 50 mph takes it with no problem.

I still want to increase the size of the front sway bar AND add a rear sway bar to help on "surprise" tight curves and cut down on cross winds effects.

I also plan to go to 15" rims and lower profile tires.

I have KYB's and might change them to a little stiffer but I want to change the other parts firts.

Over all I like the springs. I like the increased feel of control of the Vanagon. I no longer fear curves. There are a few in my area that I like pushing it til the tires squeal...

Anybody in the Raleigh, NC area want to go for a demo ride??

Robert
